Hoya Family Newsletter: February 26, 2026

Dear Hoya Families,

The coolest thing about living in the halls is that you are included in emails from residential ministers, like this one from Rev. Peterman:

“You are capable of more than you think. The challenge in front of you is not a sign to stop — it is an invitation to stretch.”

February is the longest short month of the year. Midterms are real. Walking through the Healey Family Student Center yesterday, you could hear a pin drop despite every chair being filled. Over the past several days, I have also joined louder Hoyas giggling with the Funniest Human, massacring cherry trees with acapella, cheering on our basketball team as they raise awareness for breast cancer, and joining me for a class focused on seeing conflict as a value. We’ve been busy.

Spring break awaits and I know the students welcome it. For some, sunny treks and times with friends await. For others, the comfort of home allows them to sleep in and be fed well. Take good care (and don’t forget to send them back).

All good things,

Dr. Eleanor JB Daugherty, EdD
Vice President for Student Affairs
