What is the difference between Transition housing and Bridge Housing?
Transition housing may be booked for – and paid – by any eligible student. “Bridge Housing” refers to housing covered by the university.
Is there a cost associated with Bridge Housing?
Technically, this housing option costs money; however, if you are approved for “bridge housing”, a department on campus will cover the cost.
Will I get to choose where I live if I’m approved for Bridge Housing?
Due to space constraints and on-going renovations, we are unable to accommodate specific requests beyond ARC’s officially approved accommodations, which we do our best to honor.
Do I have to request housing for the whole break?
No, but our options outside of official dates may be limited.
I am living off campus this year, do I qualify?
No, this option is only for on-campus residents. If your lease isn’t available during this time for some reason, please contact bridgehousing@georgetown.edu to explain your circumstances.
I am living in a university-owned townhome; do I qualify?
No, you may stay in your townhouse for Winter Break
I plan to live in the same room next semester, do I have to move all of my belongings during break?
For Winter Break you may leave anything you won’t need in your room.
For Summer Break, all belongings must be removed and taken home, or placed in storage.
I don’t need housing, but can you help me store my belongings during summer break?
Currently, we are unable to offer a free option to most students. Your other options:
- Book storage directly with Storage Scholars or Corp Storage.
- Check with friends or faculty mentors to see if they have a space wherein you could store your belongings.
- If you meet the bridge housing criteria and ONLY need a space to store your belongings, you may email bridgehousing@georgetown.edu and we will try our best to help.
