“Hello Hoyas” New Student Welcomes

Hello Hoyas is a series of summer new student welcomes launched by Vice President Eleanor JB Daugherty in the Summer of 2024. Across the country, incoming students will join the Division of Student Affairs to deepen their identity as a new Hoya before they arrive on the Hilltop.

These regional welcomes are a comfortable opportunity for our newest Hoyas to meet each other and for families and caregivers to form local support networks with those who may already be their neighbors. Students and their families and caregivers will be welcomed into our community and have the chance to learn more about the transition to Georgetown and form connections by participating in family discussions and student pre-orientation sessions led by University leadership, alumni, and current students.

Each event was hosted by a local Hoya family or alum, and we invited incoming students and their families from each region. Students enjoyed the opportunity to meet each other and learn more about what to expect at Georgetown. Parents appreciated the comfort of knowing that someone from the university was looking out for their children.
