What is the Hoya Hub food pantry?
The Hoya Hub food pantry is a resource for any member of the Georgetown University community experiencing food insecurity. It is a pantry stocked with non-perishable food items, available to anyone who needs food on an immediate, emergency basis. No Hoya should go hungry; the Hoya Hub is a place to pick up nutritious food to cover short breaks or other unplanned gaps in access to meals.
Where is the Hoya Hub located?
The Hoya Hub is located on the 4th floor of the Leavey Center, in room 418. The food pantry door has magnetic signage on the front.
Who can access the Hoya Hub?
Any Georgetown University community member (undergraduate or graduate student, staff or faculty member) can access the food pantry as needed. The door to the food pantry is secured with a punch code lock; the code to the lock can be found here.
Who maintains the Hoya Hub?
The Hoya Hub is overseen by professional staff in the Division of Student Affairs. Student volunteers organize, stock, and maintain the Hoya Hub on a regular basis as needed. To join the student organization that supports the Hoya Hub, email hoyahub@georgetown.edu.
How do I access the Food Pantry?
Click here to obtain the access code to the door. That website also includes a voluntary survey to help Georgetown University Student Affairs administrators collect information to help ensure we meeting community needs.
Upon using the Hoya Hub there is a sign out list for items to help monitor inventory. Please note the items you take on the sign out list so that we may track items and manage inventory.
What does the Hoya Hub food pantry provide?
The Hoya Hub provides a variety of common, nutritious, non-perishable food and personal hygiene products. Examples include: canned goods, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, grains, pasta, mashed potatoes, fruit cups and tuna fish. The food pantry also includes gluten free items.
The Hoya Hub partners with the Georgetown Harvest Garden to provide fresh vegetables depending on the weekly harvest.
The Hoya Hub food pantry does not provide fresh fruits or vegetables, dairy products, meat or seafood, baked goods or any items requiring refrigeration.
