Meet the Staff of SOS

Dr. Ballou is a skilled psychologist and administrator with extensive training and experience in the areas of clinical counseling, non-clinical case management and substance abuse prevention, education, and treatment. Dr. Ballou has worked in various student affairs offices within higher education, including CAPS at University of San Francisco, alcohol and other drug prevention at Virginia Tech and most recently in the Office of Residential Life at Fordham University. In the 7 years working at Fordham University, she oversaw the substance abuse prevention program, managed the mental health and medical-related re-entry process, and facilitated non-clinical case management services for students on the Rose Hill campus. Dr. Ballou is also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (’10-’13), serving 3 years as a Youth and Community Development Volunteer in Bulgaria. In her free time, she loves to travel, explore new hiking spots in the DMV, and is an avid true crime documentary and podcast fan.

Louise began her journey at Georgetown in January 2024, having previously worked at the Maryland Institute College of Art since July 2018. She received her Ed.M in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies: Higher Education Administration at Boston University and also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University in Acting and English Literature.  

In her free time, Louise loves traveling, rugby, theater, live music, Formula 1 racing, and having adventures with her dog Sophie (who may visit from time to time).

Emanuel “Manny” joined Georgetown University in July 2024. Previously Manny served as a Case
Manager at Syracuse University. Manny received his Bachelor Degree in Social Science from Florida
State University, Masters of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Denver and
is in the process of completing his Doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration from Nova
Southeastern University.

In free time Manny enjoys watching football, traveling and cooking.
